mousecrazy 2 Posted December 8, 2005 Hi! Glad you found us! It is a wonderful place to get support and advice. There's lots of great advice on this site...start with the "search" button, and type in "pre-op" or "surgery" or something like that, and just start reading. When you read a while (if you haven't already) then just ask whatevery ou want to know. It's like one of those magic balls where you can get an answer to any question! Good luck, and welcome! newVAbandster 0 Posted December 8, 2005 make sure you actually follow the advice of your doctor......go on the liquid diet about a week before surgery. It will make recovery so much easier...and teach you how to live after the surgery!

trichard 0 Posted December 9, 2005 Actually none of it was. I had been told that our insurance would not cover the surgery, so I never even sent it in to them. Another girl at the company I work for was approved in November and that is when I decided to try. I really had no problems with them. I had to have some test ran, and then a referal from my medical dr. Come to find out their requirements for the surgery are that you have to have a bmi of at least 38 and 2 medical conditions. I should have tried a long time ago, but I guess I was scared of the surgery itself. I am so glad I found this website, because it has really helped me make up mind to go through with the surgery.
