Input needed: Restrisction vs. Too Tight

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am 3.5 months post-op, I've lost 90 pounds since the start of my pre-op on 5/1/10. The majority of my success thus far has been without restriction. I've had two fills, the last one being on 8/18. I am now at 6.4cc in a 10cc band. These past 3 weeks have been a challenge for me. I've PB'd about 6 or 7 times and for the past hour I can stop vomiting. I am relating this chicken, but am still seeking some an advice from you all.

Please tell me:

1) have I messed up my band by vomiting?

2) how often do any of you all PB or vomit?

3) Any similar episodes for any of you?

FYI - I left a message for my fill providor, waiting for a call back.

thanks,

Rebecca

Sounds like your a bit too tight. That's good you called the office- Pbing that much isn't normal. You may want to stick to protien shakes until you get into the office.

My doc stated all the things happening to you as a sign that the band is too too tight. It is a good thing you called your provider.

Darn-it! I think you guys are right, the only reason I've hesitated is because I was able to eat fine all last week but I avoided chicken. Today I thought I could try chicken again, now that I wasn't having the "restriction" feeling. Still waiting for a call back...I'll try Soup or protien drinks until confirmed.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Rebecca

I was having all the same problems after my last fill. I went back to Dr. and had .4 removed and it made a world of difference. Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
