Like most people I wish I done this alot sooner...the last time I was still small was in Junior High...

This has been the best thing for me..I finally have restriction, pre surgery, it seemed like a bottomless pit...

I want to tell everyone who is struggling to have the surgery, its life changing...

No regrets...just happiness and most important I am healthy...no more fatty liver, high cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid problems and high blood pressure at 35.

:)

your little note just inspired me : )

None at all, except for the standard, "I wish I had done it sooner."

112 lbs lost in 9 months. It's a freakin' miracle!

Seasoned Bandsters

October is my month for the rest of my life.

Most everyone seems so positive about their decision and would do it again.

Anyone out there with regrets/ If yes, can you share why.

Thanks all for your inspiration.:)

I think my before & after - says it all...

Yes you are always going to find pple who wish they didn't do it - a lot of pple think it's the quick fix and when they find out it isn't they blame the band..

Only 6 weeks out from surgery...never have questioned my decision once. I did question the few Cookies I ate over the weekend :), but I take ownership of that...it wasn't the band's fault! I can't wait for true restriction, but I knew this part of the journey was coming so I am dealing with it the best I can!

Thank you for this post! I am getting my surgery on Tuesday (9/7) and this has been so inspiring!

Like some of you said- some people will have regrets probably because they didn't work the band right- probably ate the same as they did pre-op that got them fat to begin with and didn't get anything positive from the band but most people are thrilled with the band. If you work it, it will work! :)

I think a lot has to do with your mental changes too... your mentality needs to change with the lifestyle, with the body, etc. I am mentally prepared- finally- it took a while! If I tried to do this 2 years ago, I don't think I would be successful but NOW I am emtionally and mentally prepared for what I need to do! Even though it would be nice to have been thin in my 20's... But thats okay- I recently turned 30 and its a new life/ new me baby!

Again, thanks for the post and thank you everyone for the information! :tt1: Best of everything to everyone!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
