I HATE ice cream!!!!!

Recommended Posts

This has always been my weakness and still is! Its preventing me from losing like I should! Just wondering if anyone out there is in the same boat and would like to make a promise not to have ice cream of any sort until next Monday! Just to see what happens to our weight? :biggrin:

I like icecream too and so I say...don't keep it in the house and buy smaller sizes, like a pint instead of a gallon and make sure you only have one serving size at a time.

And lets take it past Monday and say no icecream until we lose 5 pounds??:biggrin:

Hi,

I love icecream too and would do better to avoid it. I don't buy it and keep it in the house, but I do drive through McDonald's too often for one of their 150c cones. I'll join you until Monday!

i'm in!!!

FYI....I have seen that the stores are selling single serving containers now- no risk of eating extra! Also a coworker (who is banded) told me this neat trick- get the whipped yogurt and freeze it- its thicker like frozen yogurt.

Okay my friends, its on. And Mo, Ill take your offer on the 5 pounds. Unfortunately, I use my kids and husband as the excuse for buying ice cream, but in reality, they are super thin and Im the one eating almost all of it. At this point, I have ic in the house, so its going to take super will and extra scoops for the others in the house to try to finish it up. Please post next monday and let me know how its going. Thanks for the icecream help. Sabrina:grouphug:

All I want is a BLT! I have tomatoes from my garden that are screaming for bacon and italian bread. Guess I will have some broth.< /p>

Has anyone tried to make "ice cream" with yogurt. I got inspired after eating pink berry and yoforia.

You get plain yogurt/greek yogurt and put pineapple juice in it. Once it get to the right consitancy and after you freeze it, you can top it with fruit. You don't have to add any sugar but you can try it with coconut milk, mango nectur and other syruplike juices.

you will be in :biggrin::wub::thumbup::wub:

AMEN............its always just sitting there in my freezer waiting for my glance that turns into a touch. My only battle tool is that I make sure that it is ALWAYS no sugar added ice cream with a dab of no sugar added cool whip. Of course its limited to a 1/2 cup

Okay this is not going to be like eating ice cream I'll admit that upfront! I make my Protein Shakes with the following items: fat free milk frozen into ice cubes, sometimes sugar free flavored water cubes as well, chocolate Protein Powder, sugar/fat free instant pudding powder. liquid fat free milk, splendra, occationally PB2 (peanut powder with most of the oil removed). I mix my choices in a blender. Voila! Chocolate Frappe (Thick milk shake). Has about 200-220 calories and 30-35 grams Protein.< /p>

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
