Filled too Much, Can't Eat Much

Recommended Posts

I had my last fill about 3 weeks ago, and all I've been able to down is Tomato Soup, juices, Jello and Water. Anything else makes me throw up. Is this normal? I've been banded since March 10', and I can't really complain about the loosing weight part, just wondering if its ok. My doctor always stresses how important it is to eat. And im to the point now where I dont even want to eat, im never hungry and about the only calorie intake I get a day is from jello or the Creamer in my coffee.

HELP! Need some feedback.

You can not live on Jello and coffee creamer! Your body will start burning lean muscle which in turn slows your metabolism and sets up a yo-yo effect. The less muscle you have, the less your body burns the less you can eat, etc... Please do not do this to your body.

We get the band is so we can learn to eat normal. You need a healthy mix of Protein, carbs and fats every day for your body to function properly. You could have just .3 or .5 cc removed and regain the ability to eat nutritious food without feeling hungry.

Unfill, unfill, unfill. I can't stress this enough. You don't want to be in the place where I am at right now. I'm headed in tomorrow for an unfill-and because I waited too long, I"m going to guess that at least half of my 3cc's are coming out. The longer you wait, the more problems you'll have. I had to wait because of $$ reasons, and I am miserable. I"m now to the point where I can't keep Water down, and have horrible reflux. You don't want to be in this place. get a small unfill. It can work wonders.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
