Pain with no nausea or vomiting

Recommended Posts

I am 10 weeks out from surgery and started noticing a few days ago that my tummy felt sore after I ate. I thought maybe I ate too much, so I decided to eat less next time. At the next meal, I noticed the soreness/pain was back after the first few bites. The final straw was when I simply had a glass of Water before bed Friday night, and the pain was back. The pain isn't debilitating, more annoying than anything. I feel it after I eat/drink and anytime I'm stretching or laying on my stomach. It feels like it's coming more from the band and not the port.

I came here and read numerous posts Friday night and didn't conclude anything, but it seemed like the remedy for almost everything was going back on a liquid diet. So, I did that yesterday, but no change yet.

Any ideas what this could be? Thanks for your help! :)

No PB's or sliming. I had my first fill on August 3rd, and I can't tell much difference in restriction. (went from 2.5cc to 3.5cc) The only difference I have noticed is that meat doesn't want to go down as easy, but I eat slowly and chew thorough, so I haven't had any major problems. Haven't thrown up once since surgery.

My next appt to see the surgeon is September 15th.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
