kab1278 3 Posted August 28, 2010 So far everything is going quite well. I am experiencing discomfort but no real pain. The continuous pressure under my sternum, shoulders, and shoulder blades is the worst and make it difficult to eat. I am concerned about getting enough Protein since I eat so little. But I'll figure it out. Good luck!

chriswith3boys 0 Posted August 29, 2010 I also had my surgery on 8/24. Was warned by a friend about the pressure in the shoulders. It's from the air that got in during the surgery. The best way around it is to keep moving. Go for short walks - it really works. In the hospital, I walked the hallway every hour...and didn't have any shoulder discomfort. Continuing to walk at home, and the only pain I have is at the incision site.
reverie 49 Posted August 29, 2010 Congrats on being banded! The gas pains you're feeling will go away with time. Just be sure to walk and take Gas-X strips, they really do help. Don't worry too much about your Protein levels right now; really focus on your Water. Your body has enough stored protein that you will be okay if you fall short. Focus on healing!!
