So far everything is going quite well. I am experiencing discomfort but no real pain. The continuous pressure under my sternum, shoulders, and shoulder blades is the worst and make it difficult to eat. I am concerned about getting enough Protein since I eat so little. But I'll figure it out.

Good luck!

I also had my surgery on 8/24. Was warned by a friend about the pressure in the shoulders. It's from the air that got in during the surgery. The best way around it is to keep moving. Go for short walks - it really works. In the hospital, I walked the hallway every hour...and didn't have any shoulder discomfort. Continuing to walk at home, and the only pain I have is at the incision site.

Congrats on being banded! The gas pains you're feeling will go away with time. Just be sure to walk and take Gas-X strips, they really do help. Don't worry too much about your Protein levels right now; really focus on your Water. Your body has enough stored protein that you will be okay if you fall short. Focus on healing!!
