cridlon 0 Posted August 28, 2010 Hey I'm Kinda in the same boat sleepwise. last night was about 4 hours of sleep. I haven't had problems drinking. I've been doing Water, broth, Jello, Popcicles, and Liquid Protein shots mixed in the water. regular Protein Shakes are a little too rough on me right now. But be assured I'm right with you. Sindy SUe 2 Posted August 28, 2010 I was also banded yesterday and am still on Clear Liquids for 2 more days & then full liquids. Some pain, mostly from gas I think. Good to get feed back from others who are going thru the same thing. Thanks!
Jerseydiva15 3 Posted August 28, 2010 It will definitely get better. I was banded on the 25th and today I have felt so much better.
pdq_wl2 0 Posted August 28, 2010 Hi all, thanks for feedback, I actually slept 7 hours last night and didn't need help getting out of bed. Progress is being made! But when I drink anything the only position I'm realtively comfortable in is erect - gotta stand and walk because I get these horrible pains. Cridlon mentioned Protein Shots - what are they? Maybe they'd be easier on me too..
pdq_wl2 0 Posted August 28, 2010 Hi Cridlon, I'm new to posting, but I was wondering what Protein Shots are? I'm doing my Protein Shake with Water and I get much worse through the day...

AmandaGW 1 Posted August 28, 2010 Hello all...I have not had my surgery yet (it is Thursday!), but I had some surgery last summer. I had difficulty swallowing because of the intubation (SP?). That could be a reason for the swallowing irritation. Good luck to everyone! I will join you this week!
Crispaholic 7 Posted August 28, 2010 Hey...you will be sore as you will be swollen and the swelling around your upper stomach with the band will restrict the liquids for about a week, hence the need for clear liquids post op...once the post op swelling goes down you should be ok but it would be no harm mentioning to your doctor / nurse. Gas pain from the operation can also happen for a few days, it does get better
