jane uk 0 Posted August 27, 2010 Hi, I had my band on Tuesday, and ever since then I am struggling to follow the post op Liquid Protein diet. I am just not hungry, and the thought of the Protein drinks, shakes and Soup make me feel ill! I know I need to keep up with the diet to ensure I am getting some calories in, and all of the nutritional value, but I am stuggling to do this. This is making me a little light headed! Has anyone else had this problem, and if so have you any advice for me? Thanks, Jane
swissnis 0 Posted August 27, 2010 I am on the pre diet and am having trouble with it too, maybe change flavors of your shakes?
howdybooth 4 Posted August 27, 2010 My surgeon is different from others……I was allowed mushy stuff starting on day 3. You might want to try some fat-free refried Beans – they are still my fav! Add a little cheddar cheese and it’s a delis meal. Also – if you just can’t eat, just make sure that you are drinking fluids! You can go a long time without food, but not without fluids. Mariasha 3 Posted August 27, 2010 You are having a hard time eating now due to swelling from your surgery. This gives you a sensation of feeling full. Don't worry about not eating enough now. This feeling will pass in a few days and you will be able to get back to your diet. Just try and make sure to drink enough to keep yourself hydrated.

tylee72198 10 Posted September 1, 2010 I was the exact same way. I had a hard time "eating" for over a week. I didn't start to feel better until I was able to up the amount of Protein.< /p>
honk 780 Posted September 1, 2010 I felt more like eating when I was allowed on day 8 to move to creamy/puree Soups. I never even liked Tomato soup; now I have it for Breakfast.< /p>
Wimic 1 Posted September 2, 2010 I had the exact same problem! Ive actually lost 28 lbs in 3 weeks since beginning my 2 week pre op diet (I'm now 1 week post op). I feel like I'd rather not eat than eat something that I find unappetizing. Even Soups and purees have begun to turn my stomach. I do my best to force somethng down in me even though it may not be much.
TheUrbanWasteland 0 Posted September 3, 2010 Yup ! Same here... I dont really like sweet foods so the Protein shakes were a nightmare after surgery too! That being said, I'm 6 weeks out now & still no hunger... hope you're like me !! I just drank lots of Water and waited until I could drink coffee shakes with Ice - less sweet Rach.
