I am curious about the Lap Band because I am currently 222 lbs and 5'6, We have tricare insurance and just curious if some one can kinda guide me on getting approved....Please help!!! reverie 49 Posted August 27, 2010 To start the process you want to call your insurance company to make sure that they cover bariatric surgery. lml398 0 Posted August 27, 2010 Hi, I also have fibro and my Rheumatologist got me through to my lapband dr.Within 2 months i had a surgery date which is the 30th this month.My dr has also put in through on medicare in Australia all i had to pay was $1000.The dr's are hoping this will lessen my overall pain as im in pain basically everyday and taking every pain killer under the sun.Which is not good when i have 2 year old.
