Bodybugg alternatives

Recommended Posts

Hey Everyone,

The bodybugg seems really pricey even though im sure it is worth it. Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative?

I do have a bodybugg and highly recommend it. However, for a long time I relied on a good Omron pedometer and Fitday.com. (I still use Fitday for journaling; I plug my totals for the day into the bodybugg site.)

Fitday is pretty darn accurate in terms of calorie burn from activities. Where I find the bodybugg to be more helpful is with the calories burned just from activities of daily living--it helps me keep an eye on how my loss affects my metabolism, overall. Not something critical to know, but useful to me.

It is $250 at most. Hardly pricey but there are cheaper alternatives by the same maker.

Check out the "GoWear Fit". I saw it for $79.99 at Target (pronounced Tar-Jay)

I have the bodybugg. I love it! With it, I can easily lose 2-3 pounds a week.

Here's a deal that's going on:

BodyBugg System - From Apex Fitness Group

That's pretty good considering I paid over $250 for the armband and the digital display.

I felt compelled to respond to you.$250 is pricey to her, you don't know her financial situation.

Look at it relatively, how much does it cost to get morbidly obese and maintain it? My groceries were well over $250 a month even though I live alone and ate out a lot.

Lapband surgery cost anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000. I'm willing to bet that even those of us with our lapband surgery covered by insurance pay at least $500 in co-pays and miscellaneous expenses related to surgery.

$250 is not expensive when it is an investment in saving your life.

I am this enthusiastic about the BodyBugg because I think it may have saved my life.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
