Ok. So, I had my surgery 12/2/2008. I was doing great. I have had 2 fills. I was coming here regularly reading really into it. Then something happened and I just thought I could do it on my own I guess. November 2009 I was at 259. I was 351 the day of surgery. I am not eating right, and my exercise has not been the best. I guess I need my butt kicked a bit. I have an appt. to see my dr. on 9/10 to see about a fill. I know you plateau at a certain point, but those of you who have reached your goal weight, please put me back on track. What is the best way to go about getting my weight loss back on the down and not the up.

Another thing, has anyone stretched their pouch and not been able to get it back:? Scared I might have done this.

Any feed back would be great! Thanks:redface:

Well, a fill is a great first step! You've done tremendously well with only 2 fills---100 pounds down is pretty darn amazing.

With a fill, you will find it easier to get the ball rolling again. Sometimes, you just need a break to adjust to huge changes in your body. You've had that time, and now you're ready to move down some more.

What kind of food plan does your doctor recommend? What are you eating now? What are you willing to change, and what are you unwilling to change? What kinds of exercise are you willing to commit to doing regularly?

You can do it--you just have to make some decisions :(

thanks betsy! I have a stationary bike, I need to get back on. I did that for awhile and it was helping. So I must make myself get on it. Istead of that today, I weeded my entire herb garden today. I feel good. I have had some tuna salad and a few crackers to eat today, along with crystal light to drink. So, with my dr. appt coming up I will also get with the nutritionist and get her to put me back on track. I was drinking Protein Drinks for Breakfast, but need to go get more, ran out yesterday. I am at 278 today, so definitely I think a fill will help a lot!

You've done it before so you know can do it.

As you've also learned, you can't do it on your own. Find a local support group and become involved. Even if it is only online. The group will help keep you in check while you do the same for them. You'll also have an understanding shoulder to cry on and brag to.

I don't know where Mexia is, but I am trying to get an informal group together in the DFW area, to meet once a month to share experiences and have a good time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
