Please mark whether you are banded, ex-banded, or researching. This poll is anonymous.

Voting here will help us get an idea of percentages of complications withing the LBT community, since it's so difficult to find up-to-date info.

Glad to see this post. Please tell me though how you came to being diagnosed with errosion? I have read posts regarding having erroison, but nobody can tell me what caused it, how did you know it ectera. Please enlighten me as this is one fear for me.

This is a fabulous poll!!!! I think we see the issues some bandsters have (seriouss) and lose track of how many of us there are here. It is still a percentage.

Way to poll Donali!!!! Great One. Loving being banded but still scared with all these things lurking up recently. We all need to be aware of our bodies always:0)

Based on the current numbers - we have a 5% unbanded rate. Hopefully, some more Banded folks will stop by and vote.

I clicked on the pole. Banded 10/25/05 and loving it. I've lost 20 pounds and going for the next 5. No problems so far and hopefully won't have any.

You should be aware that by including those individuals that have not been banded, the numbers become less meaningfull. There are a lot of people who are not banded and although it is important for them to participate in this site, their numbers should not impact the poll.

Only those individuals who have been banded should be counted, that way the poll would then be measuring, of those people who get bended the percentage that require removal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
