BankerRad 3 Posted August 24, 2010 I need your help. There is so much discussion about chewing your food completely (which I understand) but waiting between bites. My NUT says I need to wait 10 minutes between bites and my support group confirms that as well. I cannot sit in anyone one place long enough to finish all my food. If I eat a bit every 10 min then I may only get two or three total bites. Is this reality, do I need to accept this or is there a more reasonable solution? sixtythreenova 0 Posted August 24, 2010 Your nut is a nut.... 10 minutes between bites... no way... i eat too fast no doubt, but you should be finishing your meal in 30 minutes or less. My doctor told me that after 45 minutes you lose the process and overeat. Do what's comfortable for YOU... there is lots of bad information out there. cjett 0 Posted August 24, 2010 That is crazy. My nutritionist says if always to aim to finish eating in 20-30 minutes because if you go over that you are starting over again.
spoiltmom 44 Posted August 24, 2010 I was told to wait 60 SECONDS between bites and to finish my meal within 30 minutes.
pixistix 1 Posted August 24, 2010 As I have reached good restriction, I have found that partway into a meal I need to start waiting a couple of minutes between bites, to see if I'm done or not yet. If I eat too fast, I could go past the point of no return before realizing it and end up in a lot of pain. Especially if there's bread or something that may cause a problem.... My people say 5 minutes between bites, too, but I've found that at this point, that's not necessary.
