For the most part, I'm on the 3 meal plan but I might snack a little bit in the afternoon while at work so that I'm not ravenous for dinner later. (I get home around 6:30 or so) And when I do snack, it's always something high Protein like Kashi Go Lean, a low-fat cheesestick or something. I've been losing weight at a decent rate (doctor was happy with it) and I don't drink right after eating. I wait about 20 minutes or so. I find that it helps with the hunger not to drink while eating. Make sure you follow those bandster rules and believe it or not - you'll find that food is no longer a "ruler" in your life.

I haven't had a soda since March 7th and truthfully don't miss it. I don't have any caffeine, either, and I think that it makes a big difference. The only time I drink my calories is a Protein Shake in the morning. I'm addicted to Muscle Milk, so that's my Breakfast 90% of the time.

Good luck. The band is the best thing I've ever done. You'll love it!

My Doctor likes me to eat just the 3 meals a day but said if I have to snack just make sure it is a good Protein. I end up having an afternoon snack about half the time and when I do try to have something like string cheese or greek yogurt.

Good luck!

I am finding myself really not hungry at all now. I have had only two fills but I have to remind myself to eat something at lunch and can go until dinner without a snack most days. Depends on how busy I am. I try to stick with part of a Protein Bar or a small piece of cheese, or hummus.

It depends on the person. When I was first banded after I could eat solid food again, I was eating breakfast, a small snack between breakfast, lunch, then another small snack before dinner and I was loosing. Now, my weight loss is slowing, and I am not hungry. Go figure. Time to up the exercise, and possibly calorie intake for a week to kick start the weight loss again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
