Saying Good-bye to all

Recommended Posts

I was on my way to work today and as always, I was talking to God in prayer. I prayed for each of you who talk with me on this forum and even for those who read the posts, but don't chime in. I asked God if I was doing his will by continuing to talk to others about Him and His word. I wondered if I should cease discussing the scriptures and the issues with those here, because many are offended by my beliefs and the truths in the bible. And also, I asked if I was reaching anyone with the truths of God's word. I asked Him to show me if I should continue on LBT. I specifically asked him to keep my computer from linking up to the forums if He wanted me to stop talking for Him, or about Him, to you all. I only want to do His will. I asked Him to someway, somehow show me what to do.

Well, when I got home and logged on, there was my answer from Him. The forums were closed. So, since God always hears and answers prayers, and I will never go against what He wants from me, I am sending this Good-bye to all of you here.

I will miss talking with you very much. I have enjoyed it. I believe God has other things for me to do for Him now, and He will let me know what that is. I love you and will continue to lift you all up to God in my prayers. I hope that one day, you will find Jesus and know that He is the way and the truth and the life and that no man comes to the Father but through Him. He is your Savior and He loves you very much. He sent His Son to take your sins away so that you will never have to die and so that you can live eternally with Him in Heaven. I hope to see you there one day! God Bless all of you. My love goes out to you all. Patty Green

Patty there are still many christians @lap band,we just choose to engage our hearts and minds in just living for the day and the moment. We view God world as a diverce place full of wonderful creatures of all types and live in peace. The judgements are not for us to make, hrs apon hrs of pointless anger ,and damnation will not change anyone world view.I ve only been on this site 10 months but each time I recieved something with your name attached to it I'd just dumped it,never never read it I wish you peace................

OH CRAP!! I figured I'd try it just to prove prayer is worthless and "BANG" it worked.

I'd better start packing for the warm climate in Hell!

I think alot of you are being mean. If you don't like what someone posts just simply move on to the next one....that is what I do. Why be so mean spirited about it? I am fairly new to LBT.com but, I think you should continue doing whatever makes you feel better Patty! =)

Kind of makes me think of the bullied that turns into bullies!

If I were new I would think the same thing. In fact, I have gone to bat for someone when I thought they were being picked on when I hadn't read all their posts. Then I read more and learned where all the mean spirit came from... it was always provoked.

People are mostly very nice here at LBT. But this is a Rants and Raves section and things do heat up from time to time. Some people thrive on that kind of controversy - some people cringe and are disgusted by it.

I consider every thread and every post a quick little insight into people's thoughts and beliefs and I find all of it fascinating. And sometimes it is the most fascinating when people get personally invested and say what they're really thinking. It's obviously not for everyone, hence the recent spate of thread closings by the moderators.

To each his own, I guess.

Which threads where removed? Something looks different but they all seem to be here(threads).

Nope, looks can be deceiving. They haven't been removed, just closed. Try to post on SOME of the political and religious threads. The ones that were the most lively. The ones that "heated up." The duller ones are still there but no one seems to be interested in them.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
