Lap Band Vs Roller Coasters

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Its been a while since I posted everything has been going great since I had the lap band back in Dec 09. I have lost 174 pounds. Now I know I have drooped a lot of weight but when I look in the mirror I still see the same big guy, some friends and I are going to Six Flags Over Texas on Sunday and I am afraid that I wont be able to fit in the seats everyone says I will be fine including my doctor but I just cant get that feeling out of my mind do any one have any good advice.

Thanks Guys,

Jon

You will be FINE!! Try to think positive. Before you know it you'll be at the park and fitting comfortably! You've come a long way and I definitely don't think you need to worry about fitting into one of the rollercoasters.

Have fun!

Congrats on your loss! That's freakin awesome!!!!!!!! You should be super proud of your accomplishments!!!

As for Six Flags, I've been there at my heaviest and you should be fine. I'm not sure how tall you are, but my DH is 6'1", 250 and had no problems on any of the rides. The only thing he kind of complained about was the lack of leg room. Other than that, have fun and enjoy yourself!!!! Since it's hotter than Hades out now (I'm in N TX too), you'll probably lose more when you're there!!!

Have fun!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
