I went on vacation at the beginning of the month and can't get back on track to lose the 2 lbs I gained on vacation. I am stressed because of getting kids back to school and starting full time job. I am exhausted and can't make myself get up to exercise.

Any suggestions, hints or tips to stop eating crap?

Thanks,

Alicia

I am not banded yet, however in the past when I fell off the wagon the only thing to get me back on track was a Water fast. One to three days. It was enough time to "detox" from the sugar. Sometimes I would loose as much as five pounds in 3 days and that made me feel better than the crap food. Good Luck.

I find it a bit different. I'm definitely a sugar eater, I hesitate to say addict, I'm really not sure I believe in that.

the only way to kick sugar is willpower, pure and simple. I know my palate will ALWAYS prefer sugary foods. I love them. I dont find it that hard though. I allow myself to indulge (and properly indulge, not this crap about just one cookie) reasonably often. It fits into my calorie allowance, not that I count calories, but I really dont care if I eat a big muffin for Breakfast once a week or so. And then I just say no, the rest of the time.

It really does get easier with practice. But I know where you're coming from, in times of stress, I am prone to returning to my standard diet - sugar and caffeine, throughout the day. Perhaps I would detox if I really kicked it, but I havent found it necessary to do that.

I would skip the Water fast, and just concentrate on making conscious decisions, as Jacqui suggests.

I love sweets--really, I would eat them all day long if I could.

But the space in my stomach is limited, and it's important to me to get what I need, nutritionally. Sugary foods just don't provide that.

That doesn't mean I don't ever eat anything sweet; I do.

But on a day-to-day basis, I really concentrate on making choices that meet my nutritional needs. When I do that, the craving for sugar really subsides.

(Now most things taste far too sweet to me--which sort of reinforces my resolve to avoid them.)

I have found that when I don't forget to take my 2 oz of LeVive every morning my sugar cravings so RAMPANT. It has fruit antioxidants in it and it is wonderful for helping me not crave sugar, gives me energy, and maintaining overall health as well as helping with losing weight. (immune system, blood pressure, blood sugars, etc)

I became a distributor so that I could get it delivered to my door - I have all my family on it....and for the first time ever we are ALL (even the 19 mos old) off all allergy meds. So I am sold on it's benefits. :-) Anyhow, if you wanna know more just PM me...

If someone is truly addicted to sugar, or anything for that matter, one can not live by "all things in moderation". If that were true than the person would not be addicted. Think back to when you were first banded. You were on a fast. Not as extreem as Water only but a fast none the less. Just my 2 cents.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
