Firecallie 2 Posted December 7, 2005 This is not good, today I completely blew it. I'm only supposed to be on MUSHIES and went as far as having chips today and a fish sandwinch from McDonalds...and some onion rings, I have WAY over eaten. It has been FOREVER since I felt out of control and then today I said to myself "you haven't lost weight since 3 days after your surgery so dieting isn't helping eat whatever you want". Now I feel terrible. My mom is finally out of the hospital *which is good news* but that's the only good news I seem to have. What are the chances of my band slipping because I did not follow post diet orders? Would I feel anything? Now i'm worried, upset at myself and in a generally lousy (and that's the nice word) mood and have already tried eating to make myself feel better and it has since had the opposite effect. mousecrazy 2 Posted December 7, 2005 I don't know anything about the chances of your band slipping, sorry I can't help with that. But I am familiar with eating for emotion/stress or whatever term you want to call it. It doesn't work. It really doesn't work with the band. If you can associate food (in these situations) with a drug, then you see the point. It will help you for a very short time, then you get to have crappy feelings, and guilt, and take yourself away from your goal. Please try to find something else to do to relieve stress...there's thousands of ways. Try one. PUT DOWN THAT FORK! (or spoon or whatever it is....) There's a lot of head work to be done. Take a baby step toward that work and stop that negative thinking...OBVIOUSLY, being careful of what you eat will result in weight loss. Slow and down and think deliberately. You can have the feeling, but you don't have to act on it. ((((hugs)))) I know it's hard; I'm still working on it. Every day. Hang in there, girl!
