Sounds like you have a lot of great plans, and I'm sure you'll get to do all those things soon enough.

One of my big goals pre-band was to be able to go to a "normal" store for clothes rather than the horribly expensive specialty stores for large women. I was so pleased when I went to K-Mart recently and discovered I can fit in their clothes now.

Sadly, I think that I am LESS able to wear sleeveless shirts now than pre-band, because my arms are sagging and flabby from the weight loss. But I look at the "bat wings" as a good thing, because I'd rather have saggy skin than stay as large as I was before. :D

I made a goal for myself and that was to be able to fit in my 16 year old nieces pants! Well let me tell you after months of being banded and looking at her wear tight jeans, last night I finally told her "take off your pants so I can try them on"!

With much hesitation and a bit of giggling, she handed over her pants. Well they fit! A little tight but I zipped the pants and everyones jaw dropped. Granted that my niece has put on a little weight in the last 2-3 months but still to be able to wear her pants... priceless.

Just stick to your goal, I never thought this day would come but it did and it is possible. I feel like I got a fresh new shot of energy and love my band even more. You will undoubtedly go through ups and downs but just keep reminding yourself of the things you look forward to and you will soon get there.

My next goal? Raid her closet!

I have a 17 year old daughter and I so look forward to shopping with her, in her kind of stores! She said she can't wait to take me shopping and buy stuff for me.

I also want to be able to do things with my 11 year old son. He is very active in sports and loves to do things outside. I'm getting ready for him...camping, hiking, amusement parks, professional/collegiate football games, etc.

My DH likes to travel and do things, but the last few years have been so hard with this weight. I can't wait to be able to do ANYTHING that I want.

I guess basically, I'm ready to LIVE.

I love the definitions of obese & morbidly obese. My first goal was to hit less then 200, my next goal is to plain ol' obese and not morbidly obese. You say that to people and they laugh at you. I'm comfortably in a size 18 but I'd like to be a 12 when I'm done. I'll never fit in my daughters cloths. She takes after her dad, tall and skinny. She's 11 years old right now. 5'5" and weighs 95 lbs and is in a size 0. I can't help but love her anyway! Here's to being plain ol' obese!

My list of things I look forward to (of course being healthy is #1 on my list):

*being able to play basketball with my son

*being able to shave my underarms without leaving hair there cause I can't see it

*being able to clip my toe nails without having some help

*being able to go to an amusement park or movie theater and actually fit into the seats

*having a swimsuit that doesn't have the skirt attached to it and feeling comfortable to wear it in public

Oh there are soooooo many things that I look forwad to but I would write a book if I listed them all.

A few of my "goals"......

being able to run and play with my 6 yr old & 17 month old instead of sitting on the side just watching.

going shoppong in a "regular" size store.

and the one that makes me giggle the most, to be able to wear a thong!;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
