I go to the doc tomorrow...my problem is that at times I can eat a great deal and other times I can't eat anything that doesn't cause pain and comes up. Once I start throwing up or sliming as they call it, it doesn't stop and I start heaving:w00t:. I learned what foods to avoid...and some of the foods that cause other issues, don't bother me and vice versa. And I have pain in my left hand side after getting sick...probably a pulled muscle. I know my doc will make the choice but I am confused...to get more of a fill or not. I'm not losing much weight...since May 26, I've lost 25 pounds. For weeks after my fill, I felt nothing. Now, every other day, I am having these issues. I had no idea this procedure would be so hard. Unfortunately, due to some other issues, I am not able to work out, which I know would help me lose weight. I am just wondering why at one moment i can eat and no problems:blushing: and at other times, i get into severe pain. I went to dinner with friends and ordered moist fish and after a few bites, it got stuck...I made it to the bathroom:drool:, but I was embarrassed.Other times the neighbor will bring over a hamburger and it can all go down. ANY advice you give me will be so gratefully accepted. Much love!

I was banded July 8th and I notice there are definitely times when my band is much tighter than others. Especially in the mornings, during my monthly cycle, and when I am stressed. Not sure why that is...it just is with me. There are also times I can eat just about anything with no problems...then all of a sudden I can't eat something. Like chicken...I can eat it grilled, baked...just fine...but, I tried a chicken finger and it literally shot right back up my throat like my body had just straight up rejected it! That was the craziest thing thus far that has happened to me. So, not too bad. Just takes some getting used to! Good Luck! =)

thank you so much for the quick reply...how much of a fill have you had? BTW, your picture looks fantastic...I hope to post one soon! If you are that gorgeous at 302, I can't imagine how you will look when you get to your goal weight.

I will keep you in my prayers and would love to hear how you are doing since our surgery dates are so close. This is so much harder than I thought it was going to be. The support from this site has been wonderful.

Keep me posted on how you are doing!! I'll update after my appt tomorrow.

Are you chewing till the food is pureed in your mouth? Are you really taking your time? These are the only times I have a problem.

Thank you! I have always "carried my weight" pretty good. At 198, I was wearing a size 11 jeans. I will be happy just to get back to that one day! I don't go for my first fill until the 19th. So, right now my band is empty...but, I can still feel the difference in tightness at different times. I can only imagine how it will be once I get it filled. I have really got to slow it down and chew! Or else I am going to be in trouble! By the way...you are doing a great job already losing 28 lbs. Keep up the good work! Add me on Facebook if you are on there and also a great website I found to use for tracking my meals and exercise is called www.livestrong.com under the dailyplate section. It has been a wonderful tool for me to keep myself accountable. Good luck and keep in touch! =)

I have had inconsistany just like you. It seems like I eat small bites and chew well all the time. Maybe that is not the case. I am particularly tight in the am- I just do a protien shake for Breakfast. Talk to your doc. and the 2 of you can decide if you need a fill. Best wishes!

Same deal for me. I was banded two years ago. Sometimes I have no problems, sometimes I am running for the bathroom. I find stress is a huge issue for me. If I have had a bad day or am feeling rushed, nothing that goes down stays down! Also, if I am excited (like at a party) the same thing happens. You just need to get to know yourself and your body, and take it from there. By the way, thanks to Rcain03 for the great website tip!!!:smile2:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
