missgypsy 1 Posted August 16, 2010 I am so excited!! Yesterday we were watching tv and on came the commercial about zumba. Hubby looked at me and said go ahead and order it. My dr keeps telling me to do it so I figured why not lol. I can't wait till it gets here and I can get started on it. Looks like so much fun. I can't dance for anything but this might actually help me out. Told him now maybe if I know how to dance when we go military funcations/balls and they have the dance afterwards I won't be such a wall flower lol. :cursing:

AmberK 5 Posted August 18, 2010 I went to my first bariatric support group meeting tonight and they had an instructor there to give a Zumba class. I didn't participate since Im just 2 weeks post op but it did look fun although I just kept thinking "no way can I do that. This white girl cant dance". so I dont know- I might give it a try sometime but more than likely will just stick with regular boring workouts.
tinksmom 0 Posted August 18, 2010 My ultra fit, dancer coed niece loves Zumba, I'm glad to see that others here are so positive about it since I also saw the TV ads and almost wanted to dance with it for just the brief time it was on. I currently have a frozen shoulder but my ortho says that with treatment and PT I should be able to do it at home in a few weeks and take classes by October. I am an awkward dancer, and hate regular exercise but Zumba looks like fun.
stefaniwg 172 Posted August 18, 2010 Zumba does look like fun. I see the infomercial all the time and I want it bad! I am trying to talk myself into going to a classto try it out but I don't want to go by myself. Maybe I'll try an early morning class once my daughter starts school next week. Does anyone know how much the class cost?
NurseSophie 0 Posted August 18, 2010 Zumba, in my opinion, is the best exercise I have ever done! First I love to dance but I am almost 41 years old and just a few months ago was 300 pounds. Zumba is so much fun though I DO NOT CARE what I look like! And it burns tons of calories. I only have time to fit one class into my schedule a week so I use tons of youtube videos. For those of you who can attend class, nobody cares if you can do it well...just get out there and do it!!
lakegirl88 13 Posted August 18, 2010 I am so happy to find this. My gym just started offering the zumba classes. Classes are included in my monthly fee. Soo I am going to start. My daughter said she would go with me. I am still very large and I hope I dont die LOL. Thanks for the tips Peeps. Ill let you know how it goes.
missgypsy 1 Posted August 18, 2010 i live basically right across the street from the military base and i did check to see if they had the classes but i think maybe after i get the hang of it i might venture out and go to one. i don't want to look absolutly insane or anything lol. but i'm excited and hubby said he'd do it with me. ok i might just not take him up on that either lol. sandradee0124 0 Posted August 18, 2010 I tried it first at the gym in a free class. I couldn't keep up so well (ok at all), but I moved the whole time and never stopped smiling. It felt really good. Then I saw the infomercials and ordered the CDs. Figure this will be a good way to learn the moves and get some exercise and have fun. I'm with you all -- excited!!! spoiltmom 44 Posted August 18, 2010 It looks interesting. Which videos did you order? The total transformation set? I'd like to try it but I'd rather buy just 1 video to start with that way I'm not wasting my money if I don't like it.

So what you can't dance a majority of the time everyone is just having fun anyway, like i know damn well I can't kick my leg in the air lol BUT i do something alternate but continue to have fun, you can do it forget what everyone else says but most likely no one is going to say anything because everyone is having fun you should do it you will like that you tried trust me
