TAU 0 Posted August 15, 2010 How much Biotin do you take each day to try to help with the Hair loss? Also, do you do anything else? Thanks
Morgan from OR 0 Posted August 16, 2010 I take a 5000mcg capsule of Biotin each day and also use a "good" Shampoo and conditioner.... that in addition to keeping my Protein intake high seems to help with the Hair loss. :cursing:
pixistix 1 Posted August 16, 2010 Another poster has been very informative to me on this subject. Perhaps she won't mind if I quote her here: It's believed that the hair loss is related more to interruption in the growth cycle caused by the trauma of anesthesia and surgery than to malnutrition. Which means that it's time-limited---you'll lose hair for a while, then the cycle will reboot, and regrowth will occur. You can try to minimize the loss by being sure that your nutritional status is as good as possible. In particular, they recommend that you get plenty of Protein, take a good bariatric Multivitamin, supplement with Biotin and zinc. You can also use a Hair loss shampoo/conditioner such as Nioxin. My hair is falling out by the handful too, but I'm thinking good thoughts, getting plenty of nutrition and sleep and hoping that it stops soon! :cursing:
