Lap2Fab 3 Posted August 15, 2010 So excited for you! I have a box of shorts that are one size smaller and I'd like to think I'll be able to wear some of them before summer is over or at least on a hot fall day! I know your surgery was 5 days before mine, how long did the gas and bloating last for you? I gained weight from the surgery, but I'm assuming it's gas and Water, I'm taking walks to get rid of it and I haven't had anything but liquids since last Monday, so I'm assuming, it will all wash away eventually and I'll see a big drop in the next week or so. I'm not worried about it, but I'd like to see some change in the scale!
TracyNYC 4 Posted August 15, 2010 Yeah! It took me forever to go down a size.....50 lbs and down from an 18 to a 16.... Good Luck!
spoiltmom 44 Posted August 15, 2010 My gas pressure just went away on Thursday. I've been feeling really great since then!! Also I stalled out after surgery and didn't see the scale moving until I started eating more calories. I started using skim milk in my shakes instead of Water b/c I was only getting 500 calories a day. More calories definitely helped.
Lap2Fab 3 Posted August 15, 2010 Yeah! It took me forever to go down a size.....50 lbs and down from an 18 to a 16.... Good Luck! I am the exact same way! People say 12 lbs, but not for me! It's my butt! It takes me about 30-35 lbs to go down a size.

CrabbyCrab 0 Posted August 15, 2010 Congrats!!!!!! I'm down about 30 lbs and am not down a size yet :cursing: It's ok though My jeans are getting loose...the size smaller is still too small, but my old stretched out jeans (the ones that I was wearing when they were a bit snug) are now loose enough for me to pull them off without unbuttoning LOL Keep up the good work!!!! TracyNYC 4 Posted August 17, 2010 I know sizes vary greatly. Does anyone think manufacturers have changed their sizing charts too as we grow more obese as a country? I was a 14 in HS, 25+ years ago and 100+ pounds ago. At my heaviest I was mostly in an 18. Sometimes a 20, sometimes a 16 due to varying stores and brand, but mostly an 18. I have only bought 1 new pair of pants that is a 16. Anything else new is STILL a DAMN 18 and I am down just shy of 50lbs. I am a slow user and have always carried my weight well. But when I was 160 lbs. in HS I was a 14. By today's sizing, it would be a smaller #. ODD
