Tally23 0 Posted August 13, 2010 For almost all of today I have had this presure type feeling. It feels like it is air trying to come up from my stomach through my port. Gas x did help for just like 30 minutes and now it is back. It feels like it is gas but I am not sure. I almost feel like I could burp but I cant. Its really starting to hurt. Any advice? Cocoabean 430 Posted August 13, 2010 Congrats on your surgery! It could be the gas used during the surgery. Walk, walk, walk. Also try a heating pad. If what you are describing is what I felt, it was pain in the upper left quadrant of my abdominal area. Walking really helped.
Tally23 0 Posted August 15, 2010 Also with this pressure feeling- It happens right after I swallow spit. If I spit it into a cup then I have no pain. Could it be that I am also swallowing air. Is this slimming? This happens even when I dont eat.
reverie 49 Posted August 15, 2010 It's not sliming; that happens when food gets stuck and can't go down. Just try to walk as much as you can and use more Gas-X. It'll get better soon.
Lap2Fab 3 Posted August 15, 2010 Walking has helped me too, and also, if it's really painful, I put two pillows on the side of my bed and I lay my head on them while bending over with my feet on the ground. I have found that the gas actually passes and I can burp instead of just feeling the pain from it.

Tally23 0 Posted August 15, 2010 No hernia repair that I am aware of. I hope it does go away. It can get painful

It helps too...and keep taking the gas x, almost before the pain starts. It really has helped me. I sneezed today and I thought I was bleeding all over the place, it hurt soooo bad, worse than any gas pain has yet. My husband laughed at me because he thought I was trying to be funny, it wasn't, I seriously thought my sneeze ripped open my wounds! Ouch....I won't forget that for a long time!
