For almost all of today I have had this presure type feeling. It feels like it is air trying to come up from my stomach through my port. Gas x did help for just like 30 minutes and now it is back. It feels like it is gas but I am not sure. I almost feel like I could burp but I cant. Its really starting to hurt. Any advice?

Congrats on your surgery! It could be the gas used during the surgery. Walk, walk, walk. Also try a heating pad.

If what you are describing is what I felt, it was pain in the upper left quadrant of my abdominal area. Walking really helped.

Also with this pressure feeling- It happens right after I swallow spit. If I spit it into a cup then I have no pain. Could it be that I am also swallowing air. Is this slimming? This happens even when I dont eat.

It's not sliming; that happens when food gets stuck and can't go down. Just try to walk as much as you can and use more Gas-X. It'll get better soon.

Walking has helped me too, and also, if it's really painful, I put two pillows on the side of my bed and I lay my head on them while bending over with my feet on the ground. I have found that the gas actually passes and I can burp instead of just feeling the pain from it.

Did you have a hiatal hernia repaired at the time you were banded?

I totally spent hours doing the same thing the days after my surgery! Funny!

No hernia repair that I am aware of. I hope it does go away. It can get painful

Do you have a heating pad? It helps too...and keep taking the gas x, almost before the pain starts. It really has helped me. I sneezed today and I thought I was bleeding all over the place, it hurt soooo bad, worse than any gas pain has yet. My husband laughed at me because he thought I was trying to be funny, it wasn't, I seriously thought my sneeze ripped open my wounds! Ouch....I won't forget that for a long time!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
