NoName-AZ 0 Posted August 13, 2010 (edited) Kay here it is.. I am single and looking forward to dating again now that I am thinner. However I am concerned that intimacy will be akward with a Port. After my last relationship, i decided to "hide behind my fat" and just stay by myself. But now that I am thinner and feeling more confident, I have these thoughts. Any advice from those of you who have met someone after surgery? Edited August 14, 2010 by Starting-overin-AZ
TracyNYC 4 Posted August 13, 2010 My port is not visible. However, I am not a t goal or anywhere near it so maybe it will show as I lose weight. My port is slightly above and to the right of my belly button, so it is well padded. My BF knows all about my surgery, but it does not interfere with "those special moments". Good Luck! Bree99 1 Posted August 13, 2010 Your port will not interfere with sex at all. Mine is invisible and not that easy to feel. Don't worry!
NoName-AZ 0 Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) I am just getting ready for the next chapter of my life. Dating and finding my soul mate. The thing is...I can see and feel mine. I have lost enough that my bellie is pretty flat now. (greatful for that.) I guess I just wondered how people deal with that aspect of it. I imagine it to be akward. OMG... here comes Real life. No more hiding.. time to get out there. LOL Excited.. nervous..all of it. PS: I love my band, I feel great and I feel sexy! LOVELYLADY 0 Posted August 14, 2010 I am not having any problems with my port and intimacy. I dont feel any pain or anything. I am not at my goal weight and am not sure if this will show. My doctor says after losing weight with lap band sex rocks and roll. LOL

Any advice from those of you who have met someone after surgery? Tell your partner that you ran into traffic to save a puppy and were hit by a car and it's from the 5 surgeries you had to have to save your life. And the puppy was saved ! dave

SacChick1980 0 Posted August 14, 2010 Kool post, i was actually concerned about the same. How soon after band can you have sex? I asked my doctor that, and he said (in a nut shell) if i felt like it, and it wasnt uncomfortable, go for it. So i waited about 2 and a half weeks. And it went just fine. A few positions were less comfortable than others, but nothing we couldnt work around
