JamiefromJersey 0 Posted August 12, 2010 So I had planned on returning to work today, almost a week after being banded. I had my first post op visit with the doctor yesterday and all went well. I've been feeling pretty good, soreness went down and I felt ready for full liquids. Well, I woke up this morning, showered up and jumped in the car to head in and on the way, got just about the most upset stomach I've ever had. I had to turn around and go home which I'm pretty upset about. Looks like I'm gonna take the rest of the week and rest, and head back to work on Monday. So, is this normal to have happen, the "upset" stomach part? I'm hoping with some creamy Soups and pudding, something more than just liquids things might start feeling a bit better on the other end. Anyone else feel this way?
joecs1 4 Posted August 12, 2010 Jamie, did your dr recomend an antacid or prescribe something? I had a 1 month script for prevacid rx strength. I felt i didnt need it after the second week. It also could have been nervousness about going back. It is a good idea to get the extra rest. Who was your dr and what hosp? I am from jersey too!
JamiefromJersey 0 Posted August 12, 2010 My doctor was Dr. Prokurat out of Centerstate Hospital in Freehold, NJ. He's a great doctor. I'm at home now, sipping on Isopure and Water and my stomach isn't feeling any better. Normally, I would eat some toast or crackers but obviously, I can't. This is the worst I've felt so far... Do you know what started the upset stomach??? had you not eaten before you left the house?? it's strange to get an upset stomach for no reason unless that is "normal" with the band, i wouldn't know i don't have my band yet...good luck hope you feel better. Murpel 0 Posted August 12, 2010 I frequently get an upset stomach. Sometimes its from the Protein Shake, other times its from gas I haven't passed. I start sipping as soon as I can (1/2 hour after Protein shake) and it passes within an hour or so. It's not pleasant but it is tolerable. Hope you feel better soon.
