gracierose 0 Posted August 12, 2010 Now that I am moving full speed ahead with banding, I am eating constantly. It' not like I didn't, before its just increased. Anyone else do this prior to surgery?
Cali Sal 0 Posted August 12, 2010 YES! I'm merely attending the seminar this week and I've increased my eating. It's a bad attitude to have because I'm basically saying, "oh well, I'll lose the weight once I'm banded". I didn't get this way by eating like a bird, but I've def noticed I'm eating more this last week or so.
Amaris 0 Posted August 12, 2010 This happened to me for several days, too, then the eating quieted down for me. I'm sure it will for you, too. Just try not to be too hard on yourself and try to acknowledge that you're not hungry, but you're choosing to eat anyway. Then ask yourself WHY? I'd still allow myself to eat, but I had to answer that question, first! Fear? Anxiety? Boredom? A lot of times, once I realized what it was really about, the impetus to eat went away. Good luck to you!
Llyra 3 Posted August 12, 2010 (edited) I think it is pretty common to want to get in all the unfettered eating you can before your new reality sets in. I asked my doctor about it and he laughed and said almost everyone does it. By the way, eating like a horse is relatively sane compared to eating like a humming bird. Horses eat 7 times their weight in a year. Hummingbirds eat 24 times their weight. Edited August 13, 2010 by Llyra Juxtaposition of letters: turned snae into sane

I think we anticipate so much for it that we actualy feel we are eating more than usual. Try not to.
PghGal 0 Posted August 12, 2010 Doing the same thing here and to be honest I feel like crap doing it. I have eaten more fast food in the last month than in the last year. I was only shopping at Trader Joes and local foods untill the banding trip started...I miss it and will be going back to it asap. I think I am over it and have said my good byes to McDonalds. ILKrista 36 Posted August 13, 2010 I'm doing the same thing. I'm supposed to be following my 3 month diet, but I've been eating like its going out of style. I also started smoking (which I quit months ago) because I know I won't be able to do it for at least 2 months prior to the surgery. I'm putting it down to stress and a serious fear of succeeding. Tomorrow is my date to quit smoking again:blink:. Also my date to start eating better. I'm thinking I'll be crabby doing one or the other, so I might as well do them both together. Best of luck to everyone else!
