Another soup question...

Recommended Posts

So I'm 8 days post op and I started my full-liquid diet yesterday. My instructions say to eat 1/2 cup of strained creamy Soup. I'm finding I'm still hungry or at least I think I am still hungry but I don't want to eat more if I'm going over my 1/2 cup. Did most of you eat more than the alloted amount given?

My surgeon did not give me an amount during the full liquid phase. I was allowed to have as much Soup as I needed to stay satiated. I would eat about a half cup and then a couple hours later I would go back for more.

Rather than straining my soup I used a Magic Bullet to puree the heck out of it and then added brother to thin it out a bit.

I've been eating a 1/2 cup and then waiting a while and having another 1/2 cup. I found it easier to blend the Soup to liquid rather than straining it. It actually tastes better too. You still get all the taste of the soup instead of just the broth.< /p>

I haven't had any other soup yet besides Tomato, Butternut Squash and Red Pepper and Tomato Soup. I haven't even thought of doing Soups other than creamy Soups. LOL, I'm so afraid to go off of my provided list from my dr.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
