LAD 0 Posted December 5, 2005 My instructions post-op are to not drink anything with meals or for 2 hours after eating. Since I eat very little but 4 times a day I am having a hard time getting in 64 oz. of Water. Any suggestions?
banded_for_life 2 Posted December 5, 2005 I drink 8 oz when i wake up first thing and then 8 more before I go to bed. I drink 8 more on my way to work and another 8 on my way home. That just leaves me 4 more to get through between the hours of 7:30 and 4p...and usually I have no problem with that. I line up 4 8 oz glasses at my desk..in a discreet location so my co workers won't catch on too fast of how looney I am and I finish them with relative ease. but I usally only eat 3 times a day with maybe one snack in the afternoon. Carrie Daniels 0 Posted December 5, 2005 My doctor told me to wait 1 hour after eating. I drink 16 oz. first thing in the morning, before Breakfast. Then make sure I drink at least 24 oz. before lunch. Then 24 oz. before supper. I try not to drink much after supper because I hate having to get up and pee all night long. Water is a real problem for me....I drink flavored water (Propel), Crystal Light, and Minute Maid diet Mango drink.
paula 4 Posted December 5, 2005 LaMadam gave me the idea to keep a 16oz Aquafina Water bottle and use that to measure my Water intake. One thing I do to get my water in is "down" a bottle before I eat any meal. Lots of good suggestions here.
NJChick 3 Posted December 6, 2005 I was told to wait 30 - 45 minutes after eating to drink Water, same with before eating. I know its hard and confusing at first but you'll get the hang of it. Some times (okay almost all the time) I forget, either before or after, I'm still in the learning stage LOL. Hugs !!!

Teresita 0 Posted December 7, 2005 I line up 4 8 oz glasses at my desk..in a discreet location so my co workers won't catch on too fast of how looney I am Keri that is too funny with the Water. My doctor said drink no less then 30 minutes before a meal and no less then 1 hour after the meal so you are not pushing the food down with the Water. It was difficult to get all your water in and still eat. Water then became the priority until I could drink more faster. It takes time and you don't want to become dehydrated.
