I get banded this Thur Aug 12.......

Recommended Posts

by Dr. Madan in Beverly Hills. I know i will be off work Friday but is it reasonable to expect to be back at work on Monday? I have a desk job with very little physical activity. I would like to hear how soon some of you went back to work.

Also, i am a social drinker and enjoy martinis and scotch. I am not a beer drinker so i have no problem with no beer. I was just wondering how soon some of you were able to enjoy a cocktail after being banded.

Thanks

yes, i was thinking a Thursday surgery date I would be recovered by Monday enough to go back to work. I know everyone is different but i would still like to hear how soon some of you were back to work.

I am starving, can't wait for Thursday.

I'm going in on a Friday and hoping to be back by Monday (Tuesday at the latest). My twin sister had lapband surgery last year and took a whole six weeks off. She has an excellent employer!!

I do know that she was not allowed to drink alcohol for 1 year. It's something to do with corrosion of the band. You may want to research that before you partake! A year out she enjoys a drink now and then.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
