Recommended Posts

My 1 year bandiversary was Wed. Aug. 3. I am down 70 lbs but all prior to April because I have not been following "the RULES" bit I am making a comeback!

Hi everyone, I sort new to this thread, but I did have my surgery on Aug 16 of last year. I went from 263 to 190 and I am trying to lose 5 more by my one year mark so I can reward myself with some ZUMBA PANTS! I am excited, but haven't been doing so well these last couple days overeating. I am determined though so wish me luck! I am glad to see everyone is doing well and happy one year mark! (yes, I am trying not to follow the trend lol)

Hi, We had surgery on the same day. We also started at the same weight almost. I was 264 according to my home scale.< /p>

I have not done as well as you and I take full blame for that.

I have not followed the rules as closely as I should and I have been indulging in alcohol on most weekends which stalls and slows my weight loss. I had to come to grips with that today and stop fooling myself. So I am cutting out the alcohol all together.

I am also cutting out the carbs for the rest of the month so that I can jump start my losses again. I have been at the same weight for the last 3 months. My next fill appt is on 8/17 hoping to be down at least 10 more lbs by then.

You have done very well at least your in onederland as I should be too. I take consolation in the fact that most surgeons say that with the band we can lose from 1/3 to 1/2 of our excess weight.

I'm so disappointed in myself overall though. My band has not failed me I have failed it but I will get it together.

I think I might finally be at my "sweet spot". It's been a long road with a leaky port and gallbladder surgery, but I went in on Monday for a fill and I'm about 5.5 cc's full now. I've had 2 stuck episodes since then, but I'm adjusting slowly. I've worked out 3x already this week and I really hope this is what I need to lose the last 30lbs!

My doc says I don't need anymore fills b/c I've hit his goal weight:/

I think I just really need to kick up my exercising and it will eventually come off.

hang in there spoiltmom! you will get there! As we have seen the closer we get to our goal weight the harder it is to get those last few pounds off.

I've been playing aroung with my exercise routine and foods as my weight loss has slowed down. However, I am extremely happy with my loss so far. I have finally hit the onderland after yo yoing for the last two months. For me it was a mixture of adjusting my carb/protein intake and exercise time vs. intensity level.

Bandiversary is Aug. 23.

hello ladies! I haven't checked in in a while and from the looks of things you are all doing so well! My 1 yr anniversary was 8/4...I was hoping to be in onederland by then but you know what? I've lost 54 lbs so far and know that without the lapband there is NO WAY I could have even done that. Im ecstatic with 54 lbs and know that I can control my weight loss. I have not been exercising which I know I need to do but its so hard to make myself do it. I've upped my anti-depressant from 60 mg of Cymbalta to 90 mg PLUS the dr added seroquel for me since I was still having problems sleeping at night. (nothing to do with lapband- it all stemmed from the loss of my son 6 yrs ago). Im finally starting to feel REALLY GOOD! Im hoping this will kick start me into exercising now!

Anywhoo- just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone! Keep on keeping on!

Amber 54 lbs is nothing to sneeze at. The reality of our weight loss is due to the banding process along with our determination and being human. I've learnt several things about myself this past year since being banded and I have no regrets. I'm ready to get on to the 2nd year and do what it takes to get to goal and then continue working my issues with life and food in general.

Beach bunny happy bandiversary! May you have many more....:D

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
