anyone looking for a good pair of shoes..i FOUND em!!!!

Recommended Posts

So I just wanted to share something real quick with fellow walkers.

A majority of my exercise is "power walking" 4-6 times a week for a lil over an hour. I started off at 30-40 mins and a few weeks ago pushed myself to walk longer. After I walked an hour and 15 mins one night my legs were sooo sore(in a good way) but my sneakers were not in the best shape anymore either. So I could really feel the shock in my knees. So the next day I set out to get some good walking shoes. Naturally..I steered towards the big fad of shapeups by skechers. I was sooo excited for these. Well..that was short lived. I have a high arch so I wasn't walking in them right and I almost fell, and I stand normally leaning a smidge to the outsides of my soles. So apparently shape ups are NOT for everyone. What a disappointment. So I found a another pair instead to recommend..they're the reebok tone ups. They don't have the big platform. Just padding on the ball and heel..looks a lil more fashionable. Anyone looking for a good pair of sneakers..I SWEAR by these..they're like walking on air..I find myself walking faster and longer anywhere I go!! Wearing them right now at work and I've never moved this fast with ease lol..check em out

I've read where all of those shoes that claim to tone up something are a rip-off. I suggest spending the money at a gym.

Well I was actually recommending them in terms of if ur looking for a comfortable shoe. I didn't buy them for the "tone up" solicitation they provided..I bought them because I felt I could move longer and faster in them without feeling the shock. And they give me motivation to want to work out. I actually do spend money on a gym and go there 5 times a week on top of walking also..and I wear em at the gym too..so I'm recommending them for all around comfort not just the only form of exercise to "tone"..toning isn't even my top priority just yet..its dropping lbs (if only they made a lb dropping shoe lol). Btw they're improving my posture too..so that parts not a rip off

They may not perform magic in terms of their advertised claims, but I agree, they are very comfortable shoes. I have the New Balance version, and love them.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
