Getting Banded Tomorrow Aug 9th

Recommended Posts

I had trouble with the Protein Shakes at first, too. I finally started only making a half shake at a time, and drinking them more often throughout the day. That helped me immensely!

Well I actually have both shoulders hurting. My chest feels like I can't breath in that deeply either. I know this all because of the swelling. Last night was hard because I had to keep going to the bathroom because of all the iv fluids they pump you with. Getting out of the bed was the hardest thing.

I'm taking Gas-X strips for the gas but they don't seem to be working that well. I'll give it time. However, I'm sleeping on a recliner tonight. I want to be able to be comfortable getting up and laying down.

How are you feeling today?

I moved to a recliner as well! Extremely difficult getting in and out of bed....my belly button hurts! The gas has eased up a little bit...i am taking Mylanta. I got out the house 4 the first time 2day and totally overdid it. I went 2 three stores and by the third one, i was short breath and in so much pain! I am doing better...not great...but better...

I also weighed myself 2day...and it looks like i'm down 12 pounds! :)

Also, are any of you having trouble eating. I'm not hungry at all but I know the doctor told me to drink my Protein shakes. It's just hard because I slowly drink them and then I feel more bloated. I'm not using milk, just plain old Water. I can't wait for the swelling to go down so that I take in deep breaths again.

I am having a lil trouble eating....CAUSE I'M NOT HUNGRY! LOL~...i am required 2 eat modified liquids first 7 days...and i'm not suppose 2 do the Protein Shakes until day 5 of surgery. i'm having trouble keeping up with the 64-80 ounces of liquids and vitamins! Its just sooo much! But i know its worth it in the end~! :)

How is day 5 going 4 u?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
