brittanyleigh0303 0 Posted August 8, 2010 Can anyone recommend a good digital scale?
honk 780 Posted August 8, 2010 Here's the one I bought:Taylor Glass Body Fat/Body Water scale, Model 5599 http://www.amazon.com/Taylor-5599-Pound-Tempered-Fat-Body/dp/B001FWXFN6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1281234444&sr=8-3 It is one pound more than the scale at my PCP and one less than the surgeon's. Shrug. It does a lot of stuff that I did'nt bother to learn about (like keep track of the weight of multiple people)
dreamingofbeingskinny 1 Posted August 8, 2010 Although my doc says not to look at the scale (i am totally obsessed with it), I bought a fairly inexpensive Weight Watchers one at Target, it is glass and it is only half a pound off from the fancy one at the Dr's office. SmallerChristie 0 Posted August 8, 2010 I also have the glass Weight Watchers one from Target. It works just fine for me, but it tends to weigh a couple pounds higher than ANY of the doctor's scales that I've used. I like it that way though. I would be bummed if I went to the doctor or surgeon and found that I was heavier than I thought.
JennaJ221 2 Posted August 8, 2010 I have a professional hospital scale. My dad got it and its pretty accurate but..I'm always up a lb or 2 at the dr office one. As I'm sure everyone is bc ya gota remember..ur weighing urself at different times. Could be just a change in Water or waste ya kno..that's what my dr keeps telling me. I brought my scale in to the dr. (Bc I'm weird and anal like that..she thought I was nuts..but I just want to b on point with every detail lol) and I weighed myself on drs and then on mine and it was the same. So when I weigh in in the am before I go to the dr it doesn't bug me as much when they're scale isn't the same..could just be the water I just had..just my experience
azarellanos 8 Posted August 8, 2010 Not to mention weighing with clothes on at the Dr office. I weigh just out of the shower and before I get dressed, without clothes. I want the "real" weight sooooo I just assume the difference can be clothes also. I'm also obsessed with weighing. If I don't weigh at all or if I only weigh once a week I don't have the same accountability to myself. When I was with weight watchers and only weighed once a week I was only "good" two days before weigh in. Guess that's why I'm here with the LapBand LOL. My current digital scale is a little weird anyway. I have to weigh myself about 4 times in a row. The first time is always about 2-3 lbs(sometimes more) higher than the next one. Then I do it until I get the same weight 3 times, just to be sure. That second,(third and fourth) weights ususally correlate with continued weight loss. I might have to invest in a better scale but for now this is the crazy one I have. It'll probably take ordering online or a trip to a bigger town for me. We don't have a Target here, darn! I'm going to keep all the suggestions in mind when I do.
AmberK 5 Posted August 8, 2010 I have a WW scale that I got at Bed Bath and Beyond about 5 years ago when DH and I were on the program. It does weigh about 1 lb higher than at the doctors office but I too weigh myself first thing in the morning totally naked.
