Nicole74 4 Posted August 4, 2010 I was just about to post the a similar thread. I want to know how long this pain lasts. I take 3 sips of anything (im on full liquids) and the cramping and pain starts. If I dont eat or sip or anything for a while I start feeling a little better but than I get super hungry and start the whole process over again. I feel like a broken record but I cant drink or eat harely anything since my surgery on the 30th. Im starting to get down about this and just want to know if this is normal and how long it will last. Nicole74 4 Posted August 5, 2010 Cashmere- when you drink or sip on anything do you get cramping as well? Im starting to think this isnt normal especially 5 days out...I mean I should be able to drink a few sips of Water without feeling that major indegestion feeling. I am going to call my dr. tomorrow though even though I have an appt. friday cause its kinda scaring me
azarellanos 8 Posted August 5, 2010 I was at exactly 1 week when I started feeling good. When I started feeling good is when I realized how bad I was feeling. I had been wondering if I made the worst mistake of my life and was already planning on how to pay for the removal. I had sort of an opposite problem. If I didn't eat is when my stomach began to give me real pains AND gas. I discovered about 3-4 days in that I felt better when I ate. But it was hard to force myself to eat when I didn't want to. Warm liquids were better than cold. Now that the swelling has gone down I realize I don't have any restriction. Did your doc maybe give a tiny fill at surgery? I'd give them a call and let them know how you're feeling.
Cashmere1968 3 Posted August 5, 2010 I am beginning to think that I may have gotten a tiny fill because if I drink or eat, I get tight and full. I have to go to my doc office on Friday and will be inquiring.
ThinAli 0 Posted August 5, 2010 If you are still on pain killers then that could be part of the problem. I didn't really experience any nausea but that could be a major part of it.
Cashmere1968 3 Posted August 5, 2010 I have not been taking my pain killers, I did take the medicine for nausea but I was sooooo drowsy that I did not like it. I really am not feeling pain, just the heartburn and tight feeling after drinking or eating something. I am still learning how to eat and sip but whatever I do I still get heartburn. Soooo annoying. OnTheWay to Thin 0 Posted August 5, 2010 It can take 10 days to 2 weeks for all the swelling to do down, you had major surgery and likely have 4-5 incisions that are all swollen and healing. As long as you can get liquids down you are probably ok, but do check with your doctor. I had the same as you guys and about 8-9 days out I started feeling dramatically better, but it is different for everyone. Good luck.
