txredgirl36 0 Posted August 4, 2010 I'm 36 and live in Longmont, CO. Are there any others out there that are close? I've been seeing Dr. Johnell in Greeley/Lafayette and had my surgery last week. I made the decision at the beginning of the year that this was the year for me. I feel like the journey so far has gone fairly smooth with no surprises. I was just banded last Thursday, July 29th in Greeley, CO and am doing really good. The one thing I wasn't fully prepared for was how tired and little energy I would have after the procedure. My friends and family keep reminding me that I just had surgery, but I'm feeling really good otherwise with very little pain or discomfort so I think that's why I'm having such a hard time dealing with the lack of energy. My first follow-up appointment was yesterday and I'm already down 4 pounds since my surgery.
Tracie515 0 Posted August 4, 2010 Im not in Colorado, sorry. But i was banded July 19th and am still so tired and have no energy. I wonder what we can do to fix that?? Are you taking your Vitamins?
txredgirl36 0 Posted August 4, 2010 Today is my first day back on my Vitamins, so hopefully that will make a difference. I'm still trying to get enough Protein, too, so I hope that will also help.

Melinco 1 Posted August 4, 2010 I'm down in Pueblo. Was banded 12/17/09. I dozed on and off quite a bit, if I recall correctly the first week or so after the surgery. I think part of it was the drugs, the other the surgery itself just taking it out of me.
amyrainbow 0 Posted September 5, 2010 I am in Loveland and just got my band last Thursday, Sept 2nd. I was going to use Johnell, but as a self-pay couldn't scrounge up enough $, so I had to go with Dr Kirschenbaum in Aurora. I'm doing pretty well, haven't taken pain meds since Friday night - have been sneezing and it hurts  Paranoid about infection because of some things I have read on here. I think everything looks good though, have had a 99.2-99.8 fever - but from what I have read that's not uncommon. I am SO HUNGRY - my mom lives with me and is helping with my 10 y/o and keeps cooking and cooking aarg. I also get the feeling like an air bubble but I can't burp - that is somewhat painful but not too bad. I just keep praying and hoping that I made the right choice
txredgirl36 0 Posted September 5, 2010 Good Luck! I'm sure you'll be feeling better soon. I noticed right after my surgery that it hurt when I coughed or sneezed, but if I would hold my abdomen it wouldn't be so bak. I'm now about 5 1/2 weeks out and am doing great. I've started running with a goal of doing a 5K in November. I've lost about 13 pounds since the surgery and have had 1 fill, but have very little restriction, if any. My next fill is scheduled for Tuesday.
