very rarely do we have food in the office...Except for this week when I'm on liquids.

Dunkin Donuts brought several dozen donuts Monday. Yesterday was hot so the boss decided to treat the office to ice cream, had to see everyone walking around and working with big beautiful bowls! Today, one of the "natural" grocery stores brought in a huge goody basket of organic nuts and muffins and chocolates...

I almost want to call in for the rest of the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Having not told most people they keep bringing me food and I have to politely decline, tell them I'm watching my calories, then they tell me "But it's all natural, you have to try it!" Don't they understand that NO means NO... because it's about to be "Get that food out of my face and stop scarfing in front of me!":cursing:

If only people were handing out something fantastic like purses or jewelry or cash...I'd be all about it. But of course it's food...

Now to go sip on my Special K Protein Water... mmmm...

Sounds awful. I hate when you say "no" or "no thank you" and they keep on about it.

Awwww... I feel your pain though. Today my mom is stressed, and has been eating non stop and keeps saying just eat with me lol. When is your surgery? Mine is 8/14. I wish you luck with the employees. ~Tiffany

I know what you mean. I used to work for a family doctor and the drug reps constantly brought in full course meals and dessert and I was dieting. They never could take NO for answer. They acted like I was offending them by not breaking my diet to eat their food.

Just stick out!! Your almost there!

Sounds like you have'nt told them what kind of surgery you are having. Could you say that in preparation for your surgery you need to do a liquid diet to detox/cleanse your digestive system? If they don't know you are having surgery at all you could just say you are trying a Cleanse (those are hip right now).

No I haven't told most of my co-workers... about 100 in our offices and I've only told the 3 people I immediately work with. I'm just going to be a hermit and not leave my computer for the next week! Luckily I have my pre-op appointment today at 11 so I am leaving well before lunch here!

just keep drinking... just keep drinking...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
