gracierose 0 Posted August 4, 2010 Just today, I scheduled my first appt. with a a nurse specialist to begin my journey to a healthier life! With a BMI of 40 and probably another 2 months of meeting with PT, Psych, dieticians etc, I'm inclined to begin an exercise routine and try to reduce some extra weight prior to the actual surgery. My worry is my BMI will decrease and knock me out of my chance for lapbanding. I know I have gone over the "deep end" when I stress over decreasing my BMI. How nuts is that?:blushing:
ILKrista 36 Posted August 4, 2010 I am actually almost exactly where you are in the process. I just had my first psych meeting and nutritionist meeting last week. I'm also pretty borderline when it comes to the 40 BMI. When I checked with my insurance company, they said that it is your starting BMI (before you start the supervised diet), not your ending one. I would check the details of your insurance policy. Hope that helps.
