lauravandal 0 Posted August 2, 2010 I had my surgery last Tuesday (July 27th) and am on a liquid diet for two weeks and then I can start mushy foods next Tuesday. I dropped 10lbs during my pre-op diet (it was a 2 week Optifast diet) and this week I have dropped 4lbs. I have about 70lbs to lose. Does this sound like enough weight to drop on your first week post-op? Total down so far is 14lbs. I am not very hungry at all and have been feeling great. I am still very sore on my left side where my port is but am hoping that will go away within the next week.
cmj19 0 Posted August 2, 2010 I had my surgery last Thursday, 2 days after you. I was also on 2 weeks of the Optifast diet. I lost 13 pounds pre-op, and since the op have lost another 4 pounds (same as you). This might sound weird, but the day after surgery I weighed 2 kgs (4 pounds) more than I had the day before.. maybe because of the liquids etc. So I'm not actually sure how acurate my weight loss measuring is! I think what it's important is that the trend is going down. As long as it's coming off, that's what matters
