So my plan is to use the CIB no sugar added for most of my Protein Drinks however would like to know where people are getting the unflavored Protein Powder. I wouldn't mind getting some of that for like Soup, tea, SH hot chocolate etc.. and according to my surgeon there is no such thing as too much Protein for the 1st few weeks.. he said an extra 1/2 scoop of protein may hold you longer when your hungry rather then going looking for more. I have looked in Wamart, CVS, Walgreens etc but it all seems to be flavored. Just wonder if anyone found it in a store or just online.

I use 'Beneprotein', no flavor at all, I mix it with my SF CIB very morning. Google says it's sold in Walgreens but I couldn't find it here, so I ordered it online.

Thanks for the ideas - I too had been trying to find unflavored Protein, something not sweet-tasting.

I have used Unjury unflavored. If you use it in hot stuff, it has to be 130 degrees or lower or the powder will clump and not mix correctly. I ordered a sample pack from them and they sent a small food thermometer with it.

I am using Bob's Red Mill All Natural Whey Protein Concentrate. 12 oz cost about $14. A 1/4 cup has 15 g Protein, 1 g carbs & 80 calories. I've been putting it in my Soups. Sometimes it clumps a little, but you can whip it in or something using the blender if you want...Just be prepared for it to get 'foamy'.

I found mine at a local heath food store called Lassens. If you have any local health food stores, they likely have similar options.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
