Ooooh baby it hurts so good!

Recommended Posts

Am I the only one who likes the restriction feeling? I was banded 6.28 and had my fill almost one week ago on monday 7.26.

I have gotten something stuck almost everyday, since the fill( im still learning what an how to eat). Dont get me wrong, getting things stuck is very uncomfortable, but I like it.

I am satisfied with such a small amount of food, and one bit of the wrong food gets rid of my appitite all together.

Never in my life had I had this feeling about food! If there was ever a time when I didnt overeat or have a second helping of cake it was out of willpower and determination. I have never actually not wanted to eat a ton of food.

Maybe Im weird, but I like the pain. Like I said, it hurts sooo good!!!

I think that is awesome. Hey at least you know that it is working and that you are now about to relearn how to eat. I say high-five.

I am SO with you, Lovin. I had my first fill this past week and it's amazing how little I can get full on. Actually, just thinking of food makes me ill and I don't want to eat. Crazy to go from always thinking about what I can eat to thinking about more important things (like, okay, I'm gonna go exercise....no, I'll do it later...no, I need to do it now....ok, I'll go later).

I call my band my nagging mom..LOL

My problem is that I have always been a fast eater, I think I was trained to be that way in elementary school. They always hurried us through lunch. Since being an adult Ive always been on the go and at work we have 30 minutes for lunch but actually thats only about 10-15 minutes of really eating time.

Anyway, my nagging mother is there with me at every meal reminding me to slow down or else....just like my real mom did when I was growing up.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
