:thumbup:Hey! I'm looking for some people to connect with in St. Louis. I have really hit a plateau and need to find someone that I can lean on and allow them to lean on me!! If you're out there let me know.

I am in St. Louis. I was just banded last Thursday, July 22nd though, so unsure how much I can really help. But I am here if you need something!

I was banded in St. Louis July 26th. I'd be happy to let you lean on me and vice versa. I did just get banded this week though, so I am not sure we are at the same place. When did you get banded? Are you just not losing weight at this point, is that what is going on with the plateau? When did you get banded and how much have you lost so far? Hang in there, I am sure it is just a minor speed bump on the highway of life.

I am glad to see a post in our area =) I was banded 6/29/09, I am about half way thru my journey. I started to platue after I hit my one year mark. Have you been back to your surgeon lately for a fill. Who is your doctor?

My doctor is Wagner. I haven't even been to see him for my post surgery exam yet, much less a fill. He is out of town for 2 weeks so I won't see him until the second week of August. He said he would put the first fill in in 5 weeks. If you have hit a plateau, maybe mix up your excercise routine, or even your eating habits a bit. This seems to jump start the metabolism during regular dieting. Either way, I am sure it is normal and just a natural part of the body losing weight. Sounds like you are doing great other than that, so I wouldn't worry too much about this. My problem is I had the surgery 4 days ago and can't stay off the scale. Talk about torture!! I need to hide that thing for weeks at a time!!!

I'm in St. Louis! I was banded 3/21/2008 and have lost 80 pounds so far. I have about 30ish to go. I have had issues with my band being too tight a few times so I've gone up and down on the scale for the last year. Dr. Wagner did my surgery and I am very happy with him and his office staff. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Anyway, any questions--ask! Need support--I'm here!

Megan

Thanks Meg, will do!!!! I am glad everything seems to be going so well for you!!! Do you go to the support meetings at St. Alexius on Mondays? I think I may want to do that, at least for the first couple of months.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
