jlr58 0 Posted September 12, 2010 good to hear we're doing pretty well. My only problem is that tightness under my breastbone. yawning, coughing etc. Any one else have the same issue? I am very sleepy but have not taken any pain meds. Hoping to get my energy back soon. I'm having the same issues. I also haven't walked as much today, maybe that's part of the problem. But I feel the same tightness under my breastbone. I slept good last night, but took a nap this afternoon. I drank some Isopure, hoping maybe a little Protein will give me a little energy. But then I remind myself I'm only 2 days post op, I can't expect to feel 100%.

ledgins 0 Posted September 12, 2010 so, got my blood test results back, dr left a voice mail, said my liver levels were off and to call back monday, anyone have any idea what this is from? sometimes medications can affect the levels of the blood test for the liver. I am thinking cholesterol meds do....Not 100% on that.. Hope nothing to keep you from being banded... Good luck to you.

LisaA 1 Posted September 13, 2010 brian LA Iam really enjoying this book called an end to over eating that talks a lot about food addiction and where it comes from and reprogramming, it’s good. Amazon.com: The End of Overeating: Taking Control of the Insatiable American Appetite (9781605297859): David Kessler: Books I’m not sure what is with this font. But I feel ya, it’s hard to give up old friends and old defense mechanisms, even when they don’t make sense anymore. for me this type of understanding where the pattern comes from helps my rational mind win over the other part. I enjoy it this book, and it might help you from feeling stir crazy.get out walk, the void of the old pattern will be replaced by a new thing. You should start to dream/ visualize what you hope that might look like, be specific, write down this vision and put it away in the under wear drawer. It will be an interesting read in a couple years. Hilojack, I chose Mexico because the Dr in my area (the only one within 3 hours that does lap bands) cost 18000 - that’s for self pay, as my insurance doesn’t cover it. Dr Ortiz, who has done thousands of procedures and even trained many of the Drs on the states and has a state of the art facility is 6000 plus 360 round trip air fare. I’’ve been to Mexico several times and it just seemed worth it. I know Icould go to detroit for 12000 but that's about 8 hours driving for me, so anyway it's about money. well today is day one for weaning my babe, talk about addicted to comfort. At least we arent shrieking and stamping our feet in the cheese cake isle. Lisa

To all fellow September 17 Bandsters not long now, I hope you are all doing well on your Pre-op diets! Good luck with the count down this week Hi AnnaOz and everyone else being banded this week. I'm with you with band surgery on 9/17. It's getting really exciting now!!!:thumbup: I hope nothing stops me from having band surgery on 9/17. I'm having a problem right now with my medical clearance. My doctor never got the results of my tests so I was unable to see him on Saturday. I obviously will have to straighten this out tomorrow. Why cant things go right????!!!! Good luck to everyone who has already crossed over and best of luck to all you pre-ops like me waiting to cross over to bandland. kittykat56 0 Posted September 13, 2010 LisaA, where are you in Southeast Ohio? I'm in Jackson and I'm having my surgery at Holzer WLS with Dr. Grandia. Just curious...
Scarred4Life 1 Posted September 13, 2010 Just out of curiosity.. for those of us married couples or those in a relationship.. any advise on how to get the hubs NOT to question everything I put in my mouth? He is really trying to be supportive, but when I was using a salt substitute - he asked, can you have that on your diet? Sipping on a Crystal Light - Are you allowed to be drinking that? Admittedly, its more aggravating if he catches me doing something I am NOT suppose to be doing.. like dipping a carrot in some ranch dressing... I am on Day 5 of my pre-op diet, and there is only so much chicken, tuna and broccoli a girl can eat. I am running out of ideas. and I still have 10 days to go. I will say, regardless of the ranch dressing incident, I have been really proud of the food choices I have been making. I know that I have certainly been conscious of what I have been eating - and its certainly better that what I would have been eating. I am hoping that the pre-op tesing in the morning will be a breeze - and I would like for the next 10 days not result in divorce or squeezing the hubs so hard, his head pops off! Y'know... I am feeling better already! Thanks, guys!
