Keeri3 0 Posted July 26, 2010 So how long did y'all wait until you felt comfortable enough to sleep on your port side? Mine is underneath my left boob and I'm getting kinda tired of sleeping only on my back or right side-but am scared of sleeping on the port side just yet. It will of been a week tomorrow since I've been banded if that helps.
icequeen813 3 Posted July 26, 2010 It is not going to do any harm sleeping on your left side. However, I was tender on that left side for approx. a week. Also you may discover the port's incision site is a little more uncomfortable than your other incisions
Katy Castro 1 Posted July 26, 2010 At 2 days post-op I started turning onto my stomach and left (port side) while sleeping. By day 4 I was doing it intentionally as I'm most comfortable on my stomach or left side. Now 7 weeks post-op, it's a non-issue for me.
Murpel 0 Posted July 26, 2010 I was as close to on it as I could be from day 1. I CAN'T sleep on my back. I received a stuffed animal (Moose) from the hospital prior to leaving after my surgery, out patient, to help with the coughing and strain of moving, so I grabbed my buddy, held him to my belly and rolled. I was more on the animal than I was on the bed, but it relieved the need to sleep on my stomach, and the pressure relieved some of the incision discomfort. I didnt need it anymore about night 5.
