Worked out with my trainer- abs, which I hate. However my lower back is not bothering me anymore. I am sure it's a combination of strengthening abs and the weight loss. Took a day off from cardio.

Thanks Monkeymomma. So far this week is better. I did not get to the gym last night but back to 60 minutes with my trainer tonight. Tonight we did some cardio and a lot of shoulder and back strength stuff. I am going to be sore tomorrow. It was hard after missing five days. My foot is slowly getting better.

Hope your GI stuff is better, too!

Have a good week, everyone!

40 minutes on the treadmill- walk/jog. Felt really good. My goal is to do cardio 5-6 times a week and weights 3 times a week.

Hi folks... hope you guys don't mind me posting... I really need to have some support in my exercise are. Last night, I did a 45 minute session of toning with a trainer at the gym. We focued on using a chair and did abs and arms. WHo knew you could do abs in a chair? Tonight, it's an hour of power surge (i 1/2 minutes cardio followed by 1 1/2 minutes strength for the hour). Then we go straight into an hour of zumba.. pray for me :cursing:

caricap- you are doing great! I worked out with my trainer- upper body. She really kicked me ass. We have moved from machines to free weights- they are harder for sure. Also did 40 minutes walk/jog on the treadmill.

Didn't get to class last night.. central air went out. so instead I opted for sauna.... in my living room!! Fixed finally. KY humidity is too much at this time of year. Cleaned house today like a maniac. Pores have to have benifitted from the home-made sauna experience. Sweatin' is sweatin' I suppose.

As far as chair ideas.. on the edge and leaning back, you can do leg lifts, leg lifts and then out and back in, bicycles.

Back to the exercise routine. Met with my trainer last night for an hour and then did 30 minutes of cardio tonight. Plan to meet with my trainer again tomorrow AM.

Not losing much weight, but go in for a fill on Monday. I hope it starts dropping off again.

Hey guys! I increased my walking goal to 250 minutes a week. So far this week I've walked 251 with one more day to go! I feel so much better when I exercise.

Froggie- I'm glad that you're foot is feeling better! It's frustrating when you can't exercise cuz you're hurt. Just make sure to be careful so you don't injure yourself! :(

Monkeymama- Glad you're tummy is better!

Worked 60 minutes with my trainer today. He is pushing me hard, but I can feel I am gaining strength. Says he is pleased with my progress. I have 5 more sessions with him paid for and then vacation for two weeks and then surgery on my foot. Then I will have to start over. I may buy more sessions with him. He sure keeps me moving! :(

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
