Mariasha 3 Posted July 21, 2010 Hi y'all, I am one month post op and going for my first fill next week. Till now I have been able to eat anything as long as I chew it well. I have not thrown up or PB'd once yet. My question is will that change after my first fill? I know I won't be able to eat the sane quantities that I an eating now, but will the foods I am able to eat change? Thanks,
howdybooth 4 Posted July 21, 2010 You should notice a difference. Right now you are eating less, but basically what you've always eaten, but remember - you have nothing in your band right now! Once I had my first fill it was really a rude awakening! I no longer could eat bread (love bread - hence my weight problem), Pasta is really hard, and meat is a struggle. I have a Protein Drink in the AM, I now love and have added greek yogurt to my daily meals and chicken! I really, really work hard at getting my daily requirement of protein!!! Cocoabean 430 Posted July 21, 2010 I didn't notice much difference after my first fill, but everyone is different. There is a learning curve after each one. Best bet is to take it very easy. Cut meats into very tiny pieces. Take one bite, put the fork down. Chew, chew, chew. Make sure all is well before taking the next bite. Pay attention to what you are doing. Don't try to talk while eating. This can cause you to swallow before you have fully chewed. This has caused me to get stuck more than once. Don't assume your restriction level will be the same after any fill. Take your time getting used to your new level. PBs and getting stuck are not always in our control, but you can minimize their likelyhood. Best wishes!
