Tighter as you lose?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone gotten tighter as they lose and need an unfill? I seem to be getting tighter with every pound I lose. I hate to pay the money for an unfill if I don't have to. Anyone else experience this?

I have noticed I am tighter now that it is summertime and soooooooo hot and humid --- I can eat way less now than I could prior to the heat onset, but I haven't had a fill. I remember reading somewhere that travelling by airplane and altitude changes can make it tighter, so I kinda figured that was what it was due to.....

It can sort of happen randomly, you can get tight for sooooo many reasons, like humidity. Are you sure you're getting regularly tighter and tighter with weight loss or does it just appear its the weightloss and you've just tightened up a bit for some unknown reason?

Had my first and only fill 12 weeks ago, and have lost at least 2 lbs a week since. I was hoping it would loosen up as I've been losing, but it seems to me to be getting tighter every week.

Heat/humidity isn't an issue where I live, so I don't know whats up. It definitely seems to be getting tighter!

You all may just be eating more then you realize. As your weight goes down, your band should be less tight - causing less restrictions. That in turn allows you to eat more, or maybe even eat foods that you couldn't before. So you may want to pay extra close attention to how much and what kinds of food you are eating.

What about stress or your period? I know I get way tighter that time of the month or when I have a lot going on at work etc.

Waynes6 - I haven't noticed either of those causing tightness. Here's what I do know.....If I eat too late, when I go to bed, I have problems with slimming or just plain old acid reflux (which I've never had before!). Then my pouch becomes more sensitive and I'm tighter feeling the next day. It really takes me 3-4 hours to digest my food and it's really hard to eat by 6:00 pm. So, I try to have a bigger meal at lunch, where I have an hour to eat and the rest of the day to digest and a very light meal at dinner.< /p>

Trust me I'm not eating more, I count every calorie. But I did have a cold last week and my body has never liked heat and it has been a bit warm. I wasn't worried about it until I actually threw up from drinking Water too fast on an empty stomach. But maybe it was because of my cold, or maybe some cucumber from lunch (3 hours prior) was still in my pouch and the combo wasn't good. Either way if that happens again I think I will have to go in to get a tiny bit out.

Molly,

How's it going? Are you still feeling as tight, or did you go get some out? I still swear it's tighter every day! If I lived closer to the doctor, I would def get an un-fill.

I'm doing ok. It's on the tight side but manageable. I'm just having to be extra careful. Keeping a cup nearby to spit and pieces of meat into that I don;t know for sure will go through. My poor husband, lol. He can;t take me anywhere anymore, I never want to go out to eat. Too risky, hehe.

Waterlily said it for me, I'm on the tight side but manageable.

IMHO it's best to save the office visits for real emergencies like maybe you can't keep food down, are vomiting and that type of thing.

For me, I definitely get tighter the more I lose. The last fill I had was feb 3, and since then I've had to have 2 unfills. The first one wasn't so bad-lost 20lbs, and I got tighter but I could stil kinda manage, but knew I needed an unfill. The 2nd unill was another 20lbs down-thats 40lbs since the original fill- and I ended up so tight, that I couldn't keep down Water, and I was waking up choking on vomit. Waking up vomiting is not pleasant. I was miserable, and I had to wait until my Dr was in his office close to me because I had just started a new job, and couldn't afford to take a day off. Even now, I find myself starting to get tighter as I'm dropping more weight. Trying to drink hot tea while at work, and taht seems to help a little.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.

Lost my Pup last month and struggled really hard for that first month. Stopped tracking intake and slid into old habits here and there. Also quit working out. Can't walk in the neighborhood because of all of the memories we shared. Losing my Pup is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever been through. My Pup was my world 💔
Talked to my doc during my one year followup and they were not worried about my current status. They know, and I know, that I will get back on track.

I'm so sorry. I lost my pup (Mr. Bitters - a chocolate Pomeranian) 2 years ago and it still makes me tear up. He was my everything - my constant companion. I understand. Do the best you can to get back on track.
