I have been banded since May 2010. My daily meals consist of the following: Breakfast: a small bowl of Cereal (Special K with soy milk - about 1 cup), lunch: Soup - 1 cup (of any type--although I stay away from the creamy Soups - chowders, etc), Dinner: Protein - chicken breast or turkey and some fruit. I also eat the single serve pouches of tuna. I will occasionally have a lettuce wrap which is a leaf of romaine lettuce, sliced turkey breast and a slice of cheese. I make sure to drink plenty of Water as well. The sugar-free popsicles are still a treat for me--I really enjoy them!:tt2:

bread doesn't work for me and i've almost lost my taste for sweets (guess once you get off of sugar for a while, the cravings for me surely eased up),

other than that, i eat pretty much what i want just a lot less of it.....protein first, veggies, sometimes a small starch and don't drink with meals.

this is what works for me.

No soft bread, no tough/dry meat, limited Pasta.

Honestly - I eat "normal" - with Protein first...maybe a cup of food per meal (sometimes less, earlier in the day).

My day averages out to about 800-1000 calories.

And, NO hunger in between meals.

ETA: I had surgery on Feb. 8th, had 4 fills (I believe I'm at the "sweet" spot) and I've lost 53 pounds.

Also - NO drinking with meals. Honestly, I don't even know that I could physically handle it.

Banded March 2010. Breakfast Isopure Protein Drink and 1 cup of coffee. lunch is Protein and yogurt (if I can handle the yogurt, sometimes just protein) and dinner is similar, protein such as tuna, chicken or beef and cottage cheese or yogurt or fruit. I've had one fill and believe it's the sweet spot. I do not drink with meals, like Mrs Cabes, don't think it's possible :tt2: I do get a bit hungry between breakfast and lunch, but super tight in the mornings so couldn't eat if I wanted to.

I'm feeling pretty good, losing consistently 2 lbs a week and down 43 in the 4 months so happy with that.

Good luck, and I look forward to some meal suggestions - I'm bored with mine.

Sharon

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
