I have to attend 3 support group meetings required by my surgeon. I was supposed to go to one last Saturday, but after getting home late from work the night before and oversleeping, I stupidly forgot and when I remember I was so annoyed with myself, because the next one was on Tuesday when I had to work and they are only held every 2 weeks, so I will be going next Saturday. But I am hoping I get some good tips from it.

Jess55, I was asking because, my Surgeon also required that I attend 3 of the group

support meetings. I had missed 2 of the meeting, on my last visit it was maid clear

that I had to attend, before the my surgery. I'm happy that I went. There was

a number of things that was talked about.

like the Protein you must have so your hair will not come out,

I know after the surgery that I would have to take protein, but I'm not sure how much.

The group also talked about, piling or stacking for got which

word that was used.

Also how they felt before and after surgery.

I'm very happy I did attend, what I hear at the group and do

not understand I can come here for more infor or if

there is infor I read here the group can help to make it more clearer

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
